Welcome to Tbilisi

Arrive in Georgia’s vibrant capital, where winding lanes and colourful balconies whisper centuries of stories. Settle in and wander through the cobbled streets or toast your first evening with a glass of wine overlooking the city’s rooftops

Day 2

The Sacred Heart of Georgia 

Venture beyond Tbilisi to Mtskheta's UNESCO World Heritage sights, stand atop Jvari Cross Monastery, where rivers and history meet beneath your feet, and listen to the quiet beauty of Shiomghvime, hidden deep in the hills. Return to Tbilisi in the soft glow of the afternoon.

Day 3

Along the Roads of Wine and Faith 

Travel east to the semi-desert landscapes od David Gareja Monastery and the colourful Rainbow Hills before continuing to Georgia's wine region, Kakheti, where vineyards and distant mountains stretch to the horizon. Discover the pastel charm of Sighnaghi, the “City of Love” and visit the peaceful Bodbe Monastery.

Day 4

Wine Traditions of Kakheti

Continue to the majestic Alaverdi Monastery, standing proudly amid the valley’s vines and explore the historic monasteries and vineyards of Kakheti, discovering Georgia’s ancient "Qvevri" winemaking tradition. Visit Gremi Fortress and enjoy an intimate wine tasting and experience at a local estate.

Day 5

The Caucasus Mountain Road

Leave the wine region towards the north where the air grows cooler and the views expand into a sea of mountains. Pause at the turquoise waters of Zhinvali Reservoir and the ancient Ananuri Fortress, then follow the winding road toward Gudauri and the breathtaking heights of Kazbegi.

Day 6

Between Heaven and Earth

Wake to the crisp mountain air and ascend to Gergeti Trinity Church beneath the summit of Mount Kazbek. The silence, the wind, and the wide-open sky make this moment unforgettable. After lunch, continue toward the dramatic Dariali Gorge, where Georgia’s northern frontier meets the mountains.

Day 7

Accross the Country to Western Georgia 

Leave the high Caucasus behind and journey west accross Georgia's changing landscapes. Step back in time at Uplistsikhe, a mysterious rock-hewn city once traversed by Silk Road merchants. Continue to Gori, birthplace of Stalin, toward Kutaisi, one of the country's oldest and most atmospheric cities.

Day 8

Kutaisi and Imeretian Heritage 

Wake in the historic heart of western Georgia and discover Kutaisi’s vibrant markets and centuries-old landmarks. Visit the magnificent Bagrati Cathedral and the peaceful hilltop monastery of Motsameta, where legends of Georgia’s early history echo across the valley.

Day 9

Into the Highlands of Svaneti

Begin the day surrounded by nature at Sataplia Reserve, where hidden caves and ancient dinosaur footprints reveal a fascinating prehistoric past. Continue the Journey deeper into the High Caucasus, passing dramatic valleys and the monumental Enguri Dam before arriving in the remote region of Svaneti.

The Towers of Svaneti

Wake surrounded by the dramatic peaks of the Greater Caucasus. Discover Mestia’s historic centre and the famous Svanetian defensive towers that have protected these mountain communities for centuries.

Day 11

Europe's Highest Settlement

Travel through spectacular alpine landscapes to the remote village of Ushguli, one of Europe’s highest permanently inhabited settlements. Medieval towers rise from green meadows beneath Mount Shkhara, creating one of the most extraordinary landscapes of the Caucasus. Enjoy the breathtaking view of Lamaria Church against this background.

Day 12

Return to Tbilisi

Leave the mountains behind and fly or drive from Mestia back to Tbilisi. Spend the afternoon exploring the capital at your own pace before enjoying a relaxed evening in the city.
